Summer Camp Counselors needed for 10 week summer camp program at Camp DeWolfe. Sponsored by the Episcopal Church, the program runs one week camp sessions, by age. Located on the Long Island Sound, activities include swimming, sailing, canoeing, archery, arts and crafts, christian formation, climbing and wilderness skills. Counselors supervise up to 10 youth with a co-worker in a cabin, and manage an activity area. Salarys start at $300 per week. Housing and Food included. Primitive Pursuits Summer Camp is an all-outdoors nature awareness journey that offers wilderness survival skills, nature mentoring and peer-based community building. Camp Walden is a traditional co-ed summer camp with everything from team sports and drama to mountain biking and an incredible water front program. Our pristine, spring-fed lake and over one hundred acres of beautiful property is the perfect setting for our campers and staff to challenge themselves as they make new friends and create a lifetime of memories. We are located 3 ½ hours from NYC and Boston and 2 ½ hours from Montreal. Camp Ramapo is one of the few residential summer camps serving children, ages 4 – 16 years, who have emotional, behavioral and learning problems. Campers live in rustic bunks in groups of 6-7 with 2-3 counselors. A particular strength of this program is the one-to-one staff to camper ratio offered. Counselor positions are filled by mature, energetic, enthusiastic and diverse persons who are carefully selected for their qualities of leadership, personal values and caring that enable them to relate to and motivate young people. Most counselors are college students who are offered a six credit college course during their summer at Ramapo. Specific internship arrangements are also available. All counselors must live on-site for the period 6/20 through 8/20/10. The position is salaried with room and board provided as well as a travel reimbursement. No previous experience is required; no special course work or degree program is necessary. Intense training is provided prior to the arrival of the campers and continues through out the summer on a weekly basis for all staff. Counselor positions include outdoor/woods specialists, ropes course facilitators, athletics, waterfront & certified lifeguards, crafts, performance arts, reading center, science discovery center, garden and animal care. Licensed RN, LPN and certified EMT positions are also available.
